The RTI Coordinator/Interventionist ensures the successful mastery of Élan Academy’s rigorous academic program for all students, focusing specifically on students with academic learning gaps or deficiencies and students with disabilities through the provision of strategic and intensive support. The RTI Coordinator possesses the unwavering belief that all students at Élan Academy, regardless of deficits or disabilities, can achieve greatness and provides effective academic, emotional, and physical services to students to support their mastery of Élan Academy’s academic and character program.
RTI/Interventionist Responsibilities
- Embody & Élan Academy’s mission, vision, and LEADER values;
- Work in the inclusive and special education setting alongside individual(s) with disabilities
- Work collaboratively with the special education team and general education team
- Serve as a member of the in-school Student Support Services Team (SSS Team) for initial and re-evaluations.
- Participates in annual IEP meetings and Manifestation Determination Hearings, as needed.
- Participates on the RTI/MTSS Team and provides services and interventions as assigned including FBA/BIPs, parent interviews
- Advises and collaborates with teachers, case managers, teams on students who exhibit behavior problems and/or failing grades.
- Regular communication with School Leaders on the status relative to the percentages of students being serviced and the fidelity of intervention to RTI.
- Regular communication parents regarding student progress
- Participate in professional development and stay abreast of current 504 research through workshops conferences and seminars
- Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school-wide meetings and functions
- Manage and develop a team of interventionist
Interventionist Responsibilities
- Provides individual and group intervention as needed.
- Prepare intervention MTSS plans for small group assigned.
- Complete and track progress monitoring.
Suggested Qualifications
- Previous experience conducting formal and informal assessments, communicating with parents, providing behavioral interventions, and connecting families with community resources required
- Experience working with students from a low-income community highly preferred
