Facility Manager

Job Summary:
The part-time School Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring that the school’s facilities are safe, and well-maintained. This position involves performing routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, furniture setup and school events setup and breakdown to support the school’s operations.

Work Hours: 
[Monday- Friday ,25 hours per week, must be flexible {school hours 7:30 am to 4:30 pm} must be able to work a flexible schedule during these hours, occasional weekends and late evenings as needed]

 Key Responsibilities:

  1. General Maintenance:
    • Perform routine repairs (e.g.,changing out water fountain filters, fixing doors, windows, desks, and minor plumbing or electrical issues).
    • Reset A/C chillers and A/C units when needed.
    • Address minor carpentry tasks, painting, and patching walls.
    • Inspect and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems as needed.
    • Assist with annual inspections for roof, pest control, fire alarm systems, HVAC system.
    • Maintain a maintenance inventory list and request reorders when needed.
    • Report major repair needs to the Director of Operations.

  2. Furniture Handling and Assembly
    • Assemble new furniture ( desk, chairs, cabinets and shelving) for classrooms, offices, or other school areas.
    • Repair or reassemble damaged furniture when necessary.
    • Coordinate furniture placement to meet the needs of staff and events.
    • Break down and store furniture after events or school activities.

  3. Groundskeeping & Light Painting 
    • Assist with groundskeeping task such sweeping sidewalks, raking leaves and maintaining outdoor areas.
    • Perform minor painting task such as touch up on walls, doors and other surfaces.

  4. Event Preparation & Support 
    • Setup and arrange tables, chairs, and other furniture for school functions, assemblies, or activities. such sweeping sidewalks, raking leaves and maintaining outdoor areas.
    • Assist staff with proper audio/ visual equipment if required.
    • Work with custodial staff to ensure the area is cleaned and returned to its original state after the event
       Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proven experience in building maintenance, repair, or related work.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and carpentry.
  • Ability to operate basic hand and power tools.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
  • Flexible schedule to address occasional emergencies or after-hours needs.
      Compensation:
[$17-$20 per hour, depending on experience.]
